WITHIN THE GLASS

Audience Comments and Reviews

“THREE SHOWS REMAINING!!! Wednesday night I saw the result of weeks of intense, vibrant research and work as I watched “d² productions montreal’s production of “WITHIN THE GLASS” at the Segal Centre. It was an extremely thought provoking piece of art, touched with humour and brought to life by a stellar cast, and creative director in a beautiful space. I live a distance from Montreal so when I do take the time to head to the city to share in a theatrical experience, I am always hopeful to be engaged, entertained, challenged, or moved in some valuable way. “WITHIN THE GLASS” does all this and more. Congratulations to all involved. d² productions, continues to produce high caliber theatre in a passionate and giving manner. Thank you for the gift of this heartfelt work.”-Susan

“The performances were fantastic, and the story was brilliant, the ups and downs the audience felt along with characters, the way it moved and flowed, the seriousness of the subject, the speed at which issues arose, the timing of the funnier parts, the different personalities, the back stories. People weeping in the crowd, laughing freely, and just riveted. I thoroughly enjoyed it. You were all brilliant, it was so well acted, and the interplay amongst the 4 of you.Have a great rest of the run of the show!”-T.Bannon

“Last night I saw the play Within The Glass, starring Helena Levitt, as a surrogate mother, alongside three other actors, at the Segal Theatre. There are a few more performances left and limited tickets. I recommend theatre goers to not miss this production, as it is one of the best I have seen this year.”-Aviel

“One of the best evenings of theatre I’ve enjoyed, Totally engaging; almost two hours—where did the time go? Kudos for the playwright, and the director for interpreting the theme so capturing us in the audience,”-Len

“Within the Glass is beautifully directed by Dale Hayes and performed at the Segal Centre by most talented actors, it’s heavy but wonderfully sustained through bouts of comedic relief. A very crisp and clean show overall, a much palpable awkwardness perfectly played!”

“A thought-provoking and thought-rethinking play. A rollercoaster of emotions. Intelligently written, brilliantly directed, superbly acted. I was riveted. For close to two hours, I completely forgot I was an audience member, the actors so compellingly true in their performances. I felt I was a fly on the wall. The run is short (unfortunately) – I do hope another venue picks up this gem for a remount. In the meantime, you will thank me when you see this beautiful work of artistic genius at the Segal Centre playing now.”-Sylvia

“Fantastic. Loved it.”-Cynthia

“Juste un mot pour te dire combien nous avons apprécié la pièce, hier. Vraiment une très belle performance. Un texte fort qui oblige à réfléchir, 4 comédiens qui se renvoient la balle avec brio et passion et, bien sûr, une excellente mise en scène ! Tiens moi au courant de vos prochaines productions. Je crois que nous deviendrons des habitués!”-Gilles
