Dale Hayes, Director: Dale has been a fixture within Montreal’s English theatre and film community for over 30 years. She has acted in numerous theatre productions, as well as television commercials, episodic television, independent and Hollywood studio films. Dale has taught acting to professional and amateur actors for over 20 years. She’s directed well over 100 critically acclaimed plays in community and independent theatre productions including Jim Carol’s The Basketball Diaries and The Breakfast Club. MISERY is Dale’s most ambitious project to date.
Max Laferriere, Paul Sheldon : Over the last 8 years, Max has created a name for himself as an actor and a stuntman in Montreal and Toronto. He enjoys telling stories through film, television, theatre or just by yelling to strangers on the street at night. His film and television credits include ORIGAMI, Michael Rowe’s EARLY WINTER, REAL DETECTIVE, the Sy-Fy hit series BEING HUMAN, THE BADGE, which he wrote and produced (now available on Itunes), and most recently, the Crackle series THE ART OF MORE alongside Kate Bosworth, Cary Elwes and Dennis Quaid.
Caroline Fournier, Annie Wilkes : Caroline has taken workshops at the MSOPA, Tom Todoroff and STRAEON. She has been acting for several years in many independent films, theater productions (including the Toronto and Montreal Fringe festivals), music videos, web series, training videos, commercials and voice-overs. She has also directed a handful of plays, worked as assistant director and production assistant in both film and theater and is pleased to be a part of d² productions. Apart from acting and associate producing, Caroline works as a full time “legal drug dealer” in a hospital.
Sofian Lahyanssa, Sheriff McCain and Paul Sheldon understudy: Sofian has been part of many projects in film, theatre and television while also writing his own screenplays. A graduate of mathematics, he truly found his passion through art and acting. He has honed his craft by attending multiple workshops and being a member of Straeon Acting Studios for two years. More recently, he had a role in the popular show 19-two, starred in the play “For Whom The Southern Belle Tolls” and held leading roles in the d² productions’“The Breakfast Club” and “Folie’s Follies”.
David Levy, Cop# 1/Sheriff McCain understudy: David is a Montreal-based artist. His practice includes acting, painting, tattooing, graphic design and music. He is also an aspiring stand-up comedian. His training as an actor comes from the Montreal School of Performing Arts with teacher Dale Hayes and recently at the Straeon Acting Studios with Jock McDonald. David is perfectly bilingual in French and English and just wrapped a French short film named Dans le coffre where he plays a lead role. He was also recently involved in The Freeway Strangler, a play for the Montreal FRINGE festival. The play MIsery will mark the second time David has worked with director Dale Hayes. The first time being on Archie and Friends, a comedic play based on the popular comic book. David is also a musician and has composed the original music for MISERY.
Max Mehran, Assistant Producer/Assistant Director/Cop# 2: Max has been involved in theatre ever since he can remember, developing a strong interest in acting. He took classes in France as a child, Geneva as a teenager, and New York as a young adult. Now in Montreal, he trained in both stage and screen and has participated in many productions including Scènes de Bureaux and Sexe et autres Tensions at University of Montreal, and numerous films and TV-shows. He has expended his horizons when he started with d²productions in September 2015, working as Assistant Stage Manager, Choreographer, Translator, and Director. Now as Assistant Producer, he takes on MISERY, his third production with the company, serving as Assistant Producer, Assistant Director and actor.
Raveena Ambani, Production Manager: A graduate of McGill University in Psychology and English: Drama & Theatre, Raveena is just beginning her journey in the entertainment industry. Her previous experience includes stage managing many theatre productions at McGill as well as with d² productions and Music Theatre Montreal.
Hannah Nussbaum, Costumes/Makeup: It has been Hannah’s pleasure to work as costumer for MISERY; this has been her spookiest show yet, and she wants to thank the entire production team and cast, and all of the outside support that made it happen. In the past she’s worked on numerous Player’s Theater and Chocolate Moose productions, highlights including The Tempest, Oh, What a Lovely War! and Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead. If you ever need her, you can find her happily painting, embroidering, or doodling at her studio in the mile end.
Holly Hilts, Set and Lighting Design: Holly is a student at McGill University, studying film and theatre. Though she has a few set design credits under her belt, MISERY will be her first time working in MainLine Theatre.
